Frequently Asked Questions

Is QR Studio completely free?

Yes, completely free. There are no paid plans, no watermarks on your downloads, and no hidden limits. You can generate as many QR codes as you like.

Do my data and passwords get stored anywhere?

No. QR Studio runs entirely inside your browser. Your WiFi passwords, contact details, URLs, and any other information you enter never leave your device and are never sent to any server.

Can I put a logo in the middle of my QR code?

Yes. Click "Choose image" in the logo section, upload any image (PNG, JPG, or SVG), and it will be automatically centered and scaled on your QR code. We recommend using High (H) error correction when adding a logo so the code stays scannable even with part of it covered.

What is error correction and which level should I choose?

Error correction lets a QR code be scanned even if part of it is dirty, scratched, or covered. L (7%) is fine for clean digital use. M (15%) is the safe default. Q (25%) or H (30%) are best for print, stickers, or QR codes with a logo. Higher levels make the QR code slightly denser.

Why is dark-on-light important for scanning?

QR scanners work by detecting contrast between dark and light areas. A dark code on a white or very light background gives the strongest contrast and will scan fastest and most reliably from any distance. Avoid light-on-dark unless you test thoroughly, as some older readers may struggle.

Which download format should I use?

Use PNG for websites, presentations, and social media — it supports transparency and stays sharp. Use SVG for print, posters, or any large-format work because it scales to any size without losing quality. Use JPG when you need a smaller file size and transparency is not required.

Free QR Code Generator: Create Custom QR Codes Online in Seconds

Qr codes are everywhere now — on restaurant menus, product packaging, business cards, event flyers, and storefront windows. They’re a fast, reliable way to send someone from the physical world straight to a link, a WiFi network, or a contact card with a single scan. The problem is that most “free” QR code generators online either watermark your download, limit how many codes you can make, or quietly store the information you type in — including things like WiFi passwords or personal phone numbers.

That’s exactly why we built the QR Studio generator on Internet Fix Guide: a completely free, privacy-first tool that creates custom QR codes right in your browser, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no data ever leaving your device.

Try It Now

You can use the generator directly on this page — just scroll up, pick a content type, fill in your details, and your QR code appears instantly.

Why Use Our QR Code Generator?

100% Private, Browser-Based Generation

Every QR code you create with our tool is generated locally using JavaScript running in your own browser. Nothing you type — not a URL, not a WiFi password, not a phone number — is ever sent to a server. This is different from many QR generators that quietly log every code you create. Once you close the tab, there’s no record of what you made anywhere but your own downloaded file.

No Sign-Up, No Limits, No Watermarks

There’s no account to create and no email to hand over. Generate as many QR codes as you need, whenever you need them, without hitting a paywall or seeing a logo stamped across your download.

Nine Content Types Supported

The generator isn’t limited to plain website links. You can build QR codes for:

  • Website / URL — send people straight to any web page
  • Plain text — display a short message when scanned
  • Email address — pre-fill a “new email” draft, subject included
  • Phone number — let people tap to call directly
  • SMS / text message — open a pre-written text message
  • WhatsApp message — start a WhatsApp chat with a pre-filled message
  • WiFi network — let guests join your network without typing a password
  • Contact card (vCard) — save a full contact directly to someone’s phone
  • Map location — drop a pin that opens in the scanner’s maps app

Full Design Customization

A QR code doesn’t have to look like a black-and-white square. With our tool you can adjust:

  • Size — from small icons to large, print-ready codes
  • Colors — match your QR code to your brand or website
  • Module shape — choose classic squares, rounded corners, or circular dots
  • Error correction level — control how much of the code can be damaged or covered while still scanning correctly
  • Center logo — upload your own logo and it’s automatically centered and scaled inside the code

Download in the Format You Need

Once your QR code looks right, download it as:

  • PNG — best for websites, presentations, and social media
  • SVG — scalable to any size without losing quality, ideal for print and large banners
  • JPG — a smaller file size when transparency isn’t needed

You can also copy the image or the underlying text straight to your clipboard, print it directly, or share it using your device’s native share menu.

How to Create a QR Code, Step by Step

  1. Choose what the QR code should do. Pick a content type from the dropdown — website link, WiFi network, phone number, contact card, and more.
  2. Fill in the details. The form changes automatically based on the type you selected, only asking for what’s relevant.
  3. Customize the design. Adjust size, colors, module shape, and error correction to match your brand or the way you plan to use the code.
  4. Add a logo (optional). Upload an image and it will be placed neatly in the center of the QR code.
  5. Download or share. Save the file as PNG, SVG, or JPG — or copy, print, or share it right away.

Common Ways People Use QR Codes

  • Restaurants link straight to a digital menu instead of printing new copies every time a price changes.
  • Small businesses put a QR code on a flyer or storefront window linking to their website or online store.
  • Event organizers print QR codes on tickets or posters that open a registration form or map.
  • Landlords and cafés share WiFi access without anyone having to type a long, mixed-case password.
  • Freelancers and sales teams hand out a vCard QR code at networking events so contacts save instantly, correctly formatted, with no typos.

Tips for a QR Code That Actually Scans Well

  • Keep strong contrast. Dark modules on a light background scan fastest and most reliably. If you want to flip the colors, test it thoroughly first.
  • Use a higher error correction level if you’re adding a logo. A logo covers part of the code, so a High (H) correction level keeps it scannable even with that area obscured.
  • Leave enough white space (margin) around the code. Scanners rely on that quiet zone to detect the edges of the code.
  • Choose SVG for anything printed large, like posters or storefront signage, since it won’t lose sharpness at any size.
  • Test the code yourself with your own phone before printing or publishing it anywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this QR code generator really free? Yes. There are no paid plans, no watermarks on your downloads, and no limit on how many codes you can create.

Do you store the information I enter? No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your WiFi passwords, contact details, URLs, and anything else you type never leave your device and are never sent to any server.

Can QR codes expire? The QR codes created here are static — the information is encoded directly into the code itself, so it never expires and doesn’t rely on any external service staying online.

What’s the difference between PNG, SVG, and JPG downloads? PNG is best for digital use like websites and social posts. SVG scales to any size with no loss of quality, making it the right choice for print. JPG gives you a smaller file size when you don’t need a transparent background.

Can I put my logo in the middle of the QR code? Yes. Upload any image in the tool and it will be automatically centered and resized. We recommend using a High error correction level whenever a logo is added, so the code stays reliably scannable.
